Baby

Lilah loves babies and was so proud of herself for wrapping up her baby by herself!

New Shoes

During the day of the Elegant party, I hung around the house for a while and then went to lunch with my mom and sisters.  We ended up talking for over three hours.  It was nice to just be the four of us.  Then, we ran to the mall really quickly to get some clothes for the funeral.

After school, I picked up the kids, we came home, and packed a bag before picking up Lilah.  The plan was to meet Brian at work and take the kids to his parents’ house for the funeral.  I hated to take them there two weekends in a row, but I knew that I needed time at the visitation and funeral to deal with everything myself.  It’s a good thing I did, because I was chatting the whole time at the visitation and on the actual funeral day, I was a complete mess.  Thanks Grammie and Pops!

Anyway…when we got home to pack the bag, I saw that Macie had gotten some mail.  She was so excited!  Aunt Katie sent her a new pair of school shoes!  When we got to Sturgis, Macie discovered that she had two more new pairs of shoes!  Thanks Aunt Katie!

Good Bye Willow Tree

We had a huge willow tree right next to our house.  It was huge and out of control.  Our poor neighbor, Leah, couldn’t even park in her driveway.  We had someone come and take it out last week.  I know we will miss the shade on that side of the house, but wow did it make a big difference!

Snacks and Elegant Party

Of course, the week my Grandma passed was packed full.  Both kids had snack day, Macie had an Elegant Party, and we had the Willow tree in our front yard taken down.  Plus, a field trip and the funeral.  We were busy!

Gavin was so excited to take snack to school for the first time!  He took penguin crackers and apple juice.  The next day, Macie was able to take snack on Elegant Party day.  The kids all dressed up in their best and practiced using their manners.  I was thrilled that they thought of me to bring the snack.  I love being involved and doing fun things for the kids.  I made heart shaped pimento cheese finger sandwiches (per Macie’s request).  She said they were a hit!

Macie wore her dress from Aunt Katie’s wedding and looked like a princess!  She started out with gloves, rings, and necklaces, but they didn’t make it to school.  She did talk us into letting her wear her high heels!  I took off work that day, so I was able to come in a take a few pictures of Macie with her friends.
