PUFFS!!!

Tonight, Macie ate puffs for the first time. Just like with any new food, she makes a face and thinks about it before she decides if she likes it. But, she loved them! Brian has been wanting her to eat these since I've been pregnant because he likes them too!

March of Dimes

Today, Macie and I took advantage of the beautiful day and we walked in the March of Dimes walk. It was her first time to sit in her stroller without the car seat and she loved it! She did so well all day. I couldn't have asked for a better day!

Big Girl Bath

Because Macie is getting better at sitting up on her own and she is getting way to big for her little froggy bathtub, we decided to put her in the sink to give her a bath last night. Macie has a lot of bath toys, about 20 of them and 9 of which are rubber duckies, so we got out a few for her first big girl bath. She loved it. It was a whole different experience! Before long, she will be sitting in our bathtub!!!
Can I go back to chewing on my ducky now?

6 Month Checkup!

Today, Macie went to visit Dr. Voyles for her 6 month checkup. She weighs 16 pounds 13 ounces and is 26 1/4 inches long. He was impressed that she is already sitting up on her own, but she isn't really rolling over like she should be. He wasn't really concerned about that and told me some things Macie will start doing in the next few months. She will be starting stage 2 foods and we can give her mashed potatoes, pudding, and applesauce. I can also start her on juice.
I will have to say that this was one of the most difficult visits so far because they were running behind, Macie was getting hungry, and she is starting to freak out with strangers a bit more. She cried when they weighed her and when Dr. Voyles was checking her out. Then, the worst part....the shots. I'm so happy that she doesn't have to get any shots until 1 year.
The highlight of the visit, for me, was when Macie and I were waiting for Dr. Voyles and she was telling me about her day on the table. Behind the table, there is a mirror and she was talking to herself and reaching for the baby in the mirror. It was so precious!

Best Buds

Macie loves the dogs and they are quite fond of her. Her hands always taste yummy! I have been trying to catch a sweet picture of them together, but as you can probably imagine, getting a six month old and two dogs together in the same picture is a very difficult task. Of course, Brian's first attempt to take a picture, he got a pretty good one. Go figure!!

Is this what our son would look like?

On Thursday last week, Macie went through 2 outfits at daycare and came home in Jaxon's sleeper. Maybe this is what our son would look like... Of course she is a cutie patootie no matter what she wears!

Peek-a-boo

We have been playing peek-a-boo with Macie's burpcloths for a while, but she has just started playing along with us. Watch below and you will see her take the cloth off of her face. She is so funny!!

Half Birthday!

Monday was Macie's half birthday. I honestly don't know where the last 6 months have gone. My precious little baby is growing up so fast! She is learning new things every day and I swear she changes from the time I drop her off until I pick her up from daycare.
This month she has started sitting up for longer periods, picks up and reaches for more toys, still loves tv, taggies, and her hands, and can be the sweetest baby ever (unless she is mad that is). Her smile lights up the room and our lives!
Here is a look back to see how big she has gotten:

Happy Easter!

For Macie's 1st Easter, we had a busy day planned. Macie woke up to her Easter basket from the Easter Bunny. She got some new bibs that are big enough to protect her clothes. Next, we headed to Sturgis to go to church with Brian's family. Of course, she was perfect during church, which she never does for us. Oh well, I guess when I was little, we always behaved better in public than we did for Mom and Dad! We visited with them for a bit and they loaded us down with goodies before we left. Our last stop for the day was my Aunt Julie's house for some yummy food and Easter egg hunts.

Give me that spoon!

When I was feeding Macie her sweet potatoes and cereal tonight, she kept trying to grab the spoon out of my hand. I would literally have to rip the spoon away from her to give her another bite. At the end of the feeding, I finally just gave her the spoon and she had the best time! I guess she will be feeding herself before long:) Wishful thinking I know!

Mmmm....this spoon tastes good!

Gifts from Aunt Allie

When Allie went to Las Vegas and Seattle a few weeks ago, she brought back some presents for Macie. She brought two shirts, but one is way to big. The other she wore today for the first time. Read below to see what it says....what a hoot! Brian started playing softball today so we went to the game. We were in and out of the rain the whole time, but it was still fun. Unfortunately, they lost both games. Oh well, maybe next time! When Allie got to the game, she had another gift for Macie, an adorable pair of pink sandals. We just had to put them on her!
Anyone who knows Allie knows how funny this is!

Thank you Aunt Allie for my gifts!!

Happy Birthday Boys!

Today is our first baby's, of the K-9 kind, birthday. Rusty is 3 years old today. I can't believe that we got him when he was just 6 weeks old! Max's birthday was on March 25th. He turned 2 and we got him when he was 9 weeks old. We celebrated by giving them some treats that we got for them at the Home Show. They gave us practice before becoming parents. However, there are a few key differences between Macie and the boys: 1. we can lock them up in a crate and leave the house without getting in trouble and 2. Macie wears a diaper and wasn't mobile from birth!

A Long Over Due Visit

I spent the day scrapbooking with my friends Jamie and Tammy. Tammy (The Baird Family) will be posting some pictures of our day on her blog soon. I got nine pages in Macie's book done, which caught me up, and started a book for our health club. It was a very productive day!

Tonight, Brian's friend, Jesse, and his wife, Kasondra brought over their little guy, Alexander. I hadn't seen him since he was in the hospital, so it was good to bring the kids together. He is about 2 1/2 months younger than Macie and they are about the same size!! He is solid! A total cutie and the sweetest baby! Jesse and Brian are still working on an arranged marriage, but we will see!
When they first saw each other, they just stared at each other. Alexander started laughing and talking up a storm. It was so cute!
Do you think they make a cute couple? The diva and the linebacker!
Alexander was so sweet! I just wanted to eat up those cheeks!
Macie had to show off for her friend by sitting up with very little help. She is doing so well and getting stronger every day!I can reach my toys...even if it means busting out of my clothes! Can you see my belly?
I'm a big girl now!
