Rehearsal Dinner

Last night, we went to Owensboro for Beth and Wil's Rehearsal and Rehearsal Dinner. The rehearsal went well and then we headed to El Toribio for dinner and dessert!
Bill and Beth waiting to practice walking down the aisle.
Brian escorting his mom down the aisle.
Wil, the groom, on crutches. He fell out of deer stand right before Christmas and broke his foot. After one surgery, he is wearing a boot and will have to have another surgery sometime after the wedding. Poor guy!
This is the best picture we could get of Macie and I. She was too busy watching everything that was going on!
Macie and her Daddy...she wouldn't let us take that paci out of her mouth!

Happy Birthday Brian! (One day early)

Tomorrow is Brian's 25th birthday. We celebrated a day early because tomorrow night we will be busy with Beth and Wil's rehearsal dinner. Tonight, we went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse with my mom, dad and sister, Allie. Brian got gift cards to Cheeseburger in Paradise and some new movies. Macie and I got him a softball bat that he has been wanting for a while. Ever since he hit that home run last summer, he thinks he needs his own equipment! Macie even got him a birthday card. She picked it out all by herself:)
Brian and I both changed into red polos when we got home...great minds think alike!
Macie was so good at dinner! She played with her taggie or slept the whole time!

4 Month Checkup

Today, Macie went back to see Dr. Voyles for her 4 month checkup. She now weighs 14 pounds 10 ounces and is 24 inches long! I can't believe how big my little girl is getting. She was happy as can be and Dr. Voyles and the nurses were smitten by her big blue eyes and open mouth grin! That is, until the vaccinations... They know what they are doing by putting that at the end of the visit because she was one ticked off chica after that! Well, we survived another visit and Brian and I are blessed with a beautiful, happy, healthy baby girl!

Twins

Macie and I have matching robes. I got mine for my birthday last year from my in-laws and Macie got hers for Christmas from Rachel and Eric. It was too funny that they were both pink with white polka dots. Brian says that we only took a picture to put something else on the blog, but I just wanted to take one before she out grows it! It should fit her for a while, but you never know!

Cutie patootie!

Baby Einstein or Baby Crack?

Macie watched her first Baby Einstein movie tonight, and to say the least, she couldn't take her eyes off of the tv. Today at daycare, she discovered Bert and Ernie and Jordan couldn't get her attention. She was waving her hand in front of Macie's face and talking to her and Macie's eyes didn't budge from the tv. I don't know whether to be happy about this or not...I do have to say that I am happy that I am able to get a few things done around here!
On another note, Macie slept through the night again last night...I hope she keeps it up!
Can't stop watching...
The crack

Oh no, you caught me!

Brushing Macie's Teeth....err Gums

Today, we put one of Macie's Valentine gifts to good use. We brushed her gums. She loved it!! She has been showing some signs of teething, so we thought we should start now with good dental health! What is this thing?
Ok, not so bad!
This makes my gums feel better!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Yesterday, we started celebrating Valentine's Day a little early. Macie got some treats, a rice crispy treat and fruit snacks, at Ms. Jordan's house and she brought Valentines for all of her friends. Today, I gave Brian a small scrapbook that I made with a few pictures from his childhood. I left some pages blank that we are going to fill in together about some of his childhood favorites so that our kids have something to look at when they are older. Brian made me a coupon book. I can't wait to start cashing them in. Some of my favorites are a "guilt free girls day", "4 hours of yard work", and "diaper avoidance".
Tonight, Brian and I are going on a date. We have dinner reservations at Acropolis and then we are heading to Stockwell for a fish bowl with Rachel and Eric. It has been a long time since we have been there, because we can't take Macie. She is having her first overnight with Grammie and Pops. Brian and I were both a little sad to leave her, but we know that she is in good hands!
Macie got some treats as well:
A book, sleepers, socks (I see a pattern here), and baby toothpaste with a finger brush.
A little up close and personal with the camera!

4 months!!

Yesterday was Macie's 4 month birthday! Here are some highlights of the last month:
  • Macie had her first overnight stay somewhere else (with us there) due to the horrible ice storm. She slept at Grandpa and Grandma's house and Aunt Allie's apartment.
  • Macie has found a new fascination with tv and it often keeps her occupied while I am trying to get something done.
  • Macie discovered her taggies from Grammie and loves to hold on to them and chew on them. She has also reached for a few toys and grabbed them.
  • Just this last week, Macie has started to get easily distracted while eating when we are out in public or a lot is going on. This makes it very difficult to feed her and takes forever! She also has started playing with her bottle and trying to hold it all by herself!
  • Macie had her first visit to Lucas Oil Stadium.
  • We are estimating that Macie weighs a little over 15 pounds....my aunt weighed herself with and without Macie on the scale.
  • Her personality is pretty much the same....when she's happy she is all smiles, but when she's mad.....she's ticked!!!
Look out duck...I'm gaining on you!
Look at those chubby thighs!
Just hangin' out!

Playdate

On Wednesday nights, I get together with some of the women in my family and talk about health issues. Each week, we set goals for ourselves and help each other reach them. Tonight, it was at my house and two of Macie's friends, Hannah and Dylan, came too!
Me and Macie, Mary and Hannah, Katie and Dylan
" Hi Macie, how are you?"

"Not too bad...what's up with you?"

"Just a little closer....I want that foot!"

Little Mother Hens

Last night, Macie and I went to Shyler's for PTA night. There was a big group of us there, and Keelin and Hannah just had to see baby Macie. They are both little mother hens to her. It is so cute! I stole this picture from Jamie's blog because I didn't have my camera with me last night.

My Sweet Baby

When I went in to check on Macie before going to bed, I found her out cold with her little butt in the air. I haven't ever seen her sleep like this in her crib before. I thought it was absolutely precious, so I had to snap some photos and post it before going to bed. Sleep tight my little angel!

Cereal

Tonight, we put Macie's highchair to good use and gave her cereal for the first time. Dr. Voyles said to give it to her at 4 months, but she just wasn't getting full enough at feeding time. Plus, she will be 4 months on Friday. The feeding didn't go too badly...we gave her most of her bottle first so that she wasn't starving and she seemed to like it. We added the rest to her bottle at the end. Hopefully, this will help her sleep more soundly at night and hold her off in between meals!
Hmm....
Yummy!
I like this stuff!
Well, at least what is making it into my mouth!
All done!

FINALLY!!

Last night, Macie officially slept through the night!! She was in her crib from about 8:30 to 5:00 in the morning! Brian and I were so pumped this morning, but we hope this is a new trend. Our little girl is growing up!

Welcome Home Allie....Take 2

Last weekend, we were supposed to go to Indy and stay both nights but with all that was going on, we just went up for the day on Saturday. They were having a big welcome home party for over 4000 soldiers who served in Iraq last year. It was a neat ceremony and a chance for us to get away for the day from all of the craziness happening here. We had planned to visit our friends, Amy and Doug, and meet their new little guy, Sam, but he had RSV, so we had to call it off. Overall, it was a fun day!We met my mom and sisters at their hotel and walked to Lucas Oil Stadium. We put Macie in this carrier for the first time and I don't think she knew what to think.
Here is Allie with her unit. She is in the third row, second one in.
Look at those big blue eyes!!

After the ceremony, we all went to Applebees to eat lunch. Macie wouldn't look at the camera for this picture.

Such a big girl!

Thanks to a wonderful co-worker of mine, Macie has a new high chair! Look how big and grown-up she looks!! Before long, she will be starting cereal and sitting in her high chair more often. The first time was a success...no screaming and she fell asleep while we were cooking dinner!

This isn't so bad!

I'm Back!!!

I know that I haven't blogged in a while, but we have been through quite an ordeal over the last week and a half. Last Tuesday night, we lost power at around 10:30 at night. We stayed at our house that night and took turns holding Macie all night. The next morning we called around and my sister had power, so we headed to her one-bedroom apartment. We were doing great until around 3 when her power went out too. Then, we headed to my parent's house. They had a generator for heat, but no lights. It was better than we had, so off we went. The next night, Allie's power turned back on so we went back to her apartment and stayed there until our power came back on Monday night. That's right....6 long days later. Being a nomad with a 3 1/2 month old baby is no fun!
Well, we are finally trying to get things back in order...Macie's sleep schedule, our house and car but we are more grateful than ever for electricity!!

Luckily, we didn't have any damage to our house, but we definitely have a big mess to clean up in our front yard!!
