Easter Morning

Once again, the kids “slept in” until about 6:45!  Seriously, you have no idea how exciting this is!  The kids woke up excited and ready to see what the Easter bunny left for them.  Macie was thrilled to see that he ate all of the carrots and left jelly beans in the bowl instead!  The kids were spoiled by the Easter bunny.  I guess he thought they were good (his spies must be slacking on the job!).  After looking in their Easter baskets, they kids ate breakfast and we got ready for church and packed for the day.  Unfortunately, Gavin started his potty antics again and we only lasted 30 minutes in church.  It had been 2.5 hours since he’d been and I knew it had to.  I was so worried that he would pee everywhere and church was packed!  We went straight to Allie’s and he peed right away.  I hate that we didn’t make it through Mass on Easter Sunday, but am so grateful we made the decision to leave!

And the kids couldn’t wait to leave out carrots for the Easter Bunny!

Easter in Sturgis

Saturday morning, Gavin and Lilah let us sleep in until 6:45!  Then we rushed around to get ready to go to Sturgis for the day.  I brought homemade rolls and deviled eggs.  Both were good, but the rolls were a HIT!  We were able to visit with Grammie, Pops, Aunt Katie, and Aunt Poggy.  The kids had an egg hunt (where they found 30 eggs each!) and got Easter baskets.  It was Lilah’s first egg hunt and she was thrilled after she had a few eggs.  Gavin found all of his quickly, and Macie wanted to find eggs that were different colors than the ones she already had.  She also had fun picking flowers for me!  We had a yummy lunch and hung out.  We were a little sad that we missed Aunt Beth, Uncle Wil, and Parker, but we plan to see them next weekend.

The kids were good all morning and even napped well.  However, they started acting horribly and melting around 2:30 and by 3:30 I’d had enough!  We loaded up, said our good byes, and headed home.  The other issue was Gavin had two accidents.  He didn’t like the potty seat we brought and wouldn’t pee in the potty.  I beyond frustrated.  I know he’s only been potty trained for a week, but he had been doing so well.  Right before we left, he finally pooped in the potty, but we learned our lesson and started taking his bigger potty seat with us until he is more comfortable!

Night at Grammie and Pops’

It has been a year since Macie spent the night at Grammie and Pops’ house by herself.  Brian took her Friday morning and she was able to spend all of Friday and Friday night with Grammie and Pops.  We went on Saturday morning to spend the day and celebrate Easter.  Macie had a great time.  Aunt Katie bought her new pjs and she helped Grammie make a cake.  Macie was very well behaved and I know that she thrived on the special attention!

Aunt Katie curled her hair Saturday morning and Grammie let her have this bunny mask because they weren’t able use it on their cake.  The cake fell apart and Macie thought it was hilarious!

Guess who??

I was walking down the stairs at Grammie and Pops’ house the other day and had to do a double take.  This picture is hanging on their wall.  It is of Brian when he was around 17 months old.  He looks so much like Lilah…or should I say, Lilah looks so much like him!  It is almost creepy how much they look alike!

“Mommy, look at these muscles!”
