Dear Macie

Dear Macie,

I can’t believe it is time for me to write this.  You are 5…a whole handful!  As I say each year, you gave me the title of being a Mommy and I’m so grateful for that.  You are such an emotional little girl and so full of life.  You are very into art and craft projects, girly stuff, Curious George, and Hello Kitty.  You have a lot of friends and play with different kids every day.  You want to be my helper and are a great big sister.  You are so smart and amaze us each and every day.  You organize things and set up your bed and play areas.  You can count to 100 by 1, 5, and 10.  You know all of your letters and sounds and are spelling more words.  This year will bring a lot of exciting things…preschool graduation, starting Kindergarten, and playing t-ball!  I am so proud to be your Mommy and look forward to each and every moment with you!  Always remember that you are smart, kind,  and important!  I love you to the moon and back!

More Birthday…

On Monday, Macie got to bring a snack and show and tell for her birthday.  She brought an orange punch and orange cream popsicles.  It was “O” week at preschool.  For show and tell, she brought her new Minnie watch.  Macie was dressed in a new outfit, stick on earrings, and a big smile that morning.  She looked so cute!

When we picked up Lilah, Miss Julie surprised her with a bracelet with her name on it like Lilah’s.  She was pumped!

In the mail, Macie got a card and $2 from Nanny.  Macie’s three day birthday celebrations finally came to an end!

Skates!

Macie got some roller skates for her birthday and she has already been putting them to use.  She does laps around the house.  Gavin has done a few, too.  The carpet isn’t too bad but the kitchen floor is a whole different story!  Soon, we promised her to would take her outside.  Maybe we should take a first aid kit with us!

Library Card

On Monday after school, I took Macie to the library to get a library card.  Now that she is 5, I thought she was ready for it.  She was so excited to have her very own card and check out movies and books on her own.  Such a big girl!  Being 5 is off to a great start!

Barbie Bowling Party

This year, Macie had a Barbie Bowling Party.  We won a bowling party for River City Recreation at the Holy Spirit Summer Social.  Macie had been wanting to go bowling and we knew this would be perfect.  We invited just immediate family and her Godparents.  Grandpa, Grandma, Aunt Allie, Aunt Annie, Grammie, Pops, Aunt Beth, and Parker were all able to come.  I took Macie shopping to pick out a theme.  She went back and forth and decided on Barbie for the plates, napkins, and goody bags.  She had the best time picking out the items to put in the bags and kept it all a secret until the party.

We had the absolute best time bowling at her party!  It worked out perfectly and we had a fun time.  Gavin even got a strike!  My dad and I had a little competition going.  I won the first game and he won the second.  We will definitely be going bowling again sometime!  Macie was blessed with lots of presents and love.  I think she had a great party!

After bowling, we hung out at our house for a short time before going to Kiplee’s for dinner.  Grandma, Grandpa, and Aunt Allie joined us.  Macie was spoiled all day long and had such a wonderful day.  I honestly can’t believe she is 5!  Happy Birthday, Macie Lu!

Birthday Banner

Because we weren’t having a big party this year, I decided to hang her birthday banner up in our house.  She was so excited when she woke up and saw it.  In fact, she asked us to keep it up for a while, so it is still in the living room!

Happy Birthday, Macie!

Saturday was great, but we also had a lot of fun stuff planned for Macie’s birthday on Sunday.  She woke up and was raring to go!  Daddy made homemade biscuits, gravy, and scrambled eggs for breakfast.  I helped her fill her goody bags and we made cupcakes.  Grandpa came to visit and she had several phone calls.  For lunch, she picked tacos.  Then, it was rest time before her party.   Macie was too excited to actually sleep, so we decorated her cupcakes while everyone else slept.  The day was off to a great start!!

She kept saying she was a whole handful and I jokingly told her she’s always been a handful!
