Leland's Baptism

After Mass today, Leland was baptized. We were honored to be asked to be his godparents. When we were done, we headed to their house for delicious turkey burgers, ramen noodle salad, and chips. We gave him a Bible and were very surprised when he gave us a gift card to Red Lobster and a framed picture of him. How sweet!!
My mom came with us to Mass to keep Macie entertained during the baptism. Macie had to tell her all about her weekend!

Party time!!

Once again, we had a packed weekend! Friday night, we went to Sklyar's 6th birthday party. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera. Skylar, the diva that she is, asked for skirts and other clothes. She got a whole new summer wardrobe! Macie even got a new book in her goody bag! After eating a cupcake and some ice cream, we left and headed to Rachel and Eric's for margaritas and just hanging out!
On Saturday, our first stop was Kyle's 5th birthday party. I was armed with my camera this time, as you can see below. Macie got another goody bag with another new book and some treats for Mommy! Then, we headed to Madisonville to visit Brian's Mamaw who is in the hospital and his Papaw in the nursing home. At the hospital, Macie had a big blowout, of course, and then grabbed on to Brian's Mamaw's IV. Needless to say, I was a nervous wreck! When we were at the nursing home, there was a tornado warning and a major hail storm. What a crazy day!!!
Mom, I'm coming after that camera!
It was hard to see Kyle through all of the kids, but here he is holding up the transformer that we got him.
Keelin found Macie's shoe that she had kicked off, so she was trying to put in on for her. She is always so helpful with Macie!
Reagan is such a big girl!! I can't believe she is pulling herself up!

Keelin loved the Tinkerbell chair that we got Hannah for her birthday. I am kicking myself for not getting her one. She carried it with her all around the party!

When Macie was laying on the ground playing, Regan had to go over and say hello!

I'm ready!

Spring time is here and the weather this week has been great! Annie and I decided to take Macie for a walk yesterday afternoon after I got home from my training session. She looked absolutely adorable in her pink floppy hat! She enjoyed the walk, even though she couldn't quite get comfy enough to settle into a good sleep.
Hey guys...I'm ready to go!

We've been busy!

We have been really busy the last couple of days, and I have several pictures to post, so I thought I would do it all in one.

Sunday was my dad's birthday. We celebrated by going to my cousin's stage show at Mater Dei. Then, we headed to Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner. Yummy!!
Align Left Not the best pic, but my cousin is the drummer.
Last night was our school fundraiser night at Chuck-E-Cheese. My sister, Annie, and I took Macie. I got a free small pizza and drink so I was happy. Macie was mesmerized by the sounds, lights, and all of the crazy kids running around.
Not quite big enough to drive...maybe next time!

Wow...my eyes are just like daddy's!
Macie loves to watch Barney at Grandma's house

My sister, Annie watched Macie at our house today. My mom's work schedule changed this week and Annie is home for Spring Break. They threw a party at home without me! Allie, my cousin Jamie and her son, Clay, and Dylan all came over to play.
How cute in her hoody!

Dylan is army crawling all over the place. Maybe he can teach Macie!

Leland's 5th Birthday!

Last night, we went to Leland's 5th birthday party. There was a pirate theme and the kids had a great time! When I asked Leland what he wanted for his birthday, he said a BIG transformer. So with the help of my sisters, we got him the biggest transformer we could find. As you can see in the picture below, he was thrilled!!

Reagan, Macie, and Olivia were all staring at the kids as they were hitting the pinata.
Look at those sweet girls with their bows!

5 months old!!

Yesterday was Macie's 5 month birthday! I know that I say this every time, but I truly can't believe how fast time is going and how big my sweet little girl is getting!
Here are the highlights:
  • She had her first overnight without us at Grammie and Pops for Valentine's day. Brian had a harder time leaving her than he originally had thought, but Macie did well and it was a nice break for us!
  • Macie constantly has her hand in her mouth or is reaching for a toy to chew on. She loves her taggies and some books that she can get in her mouth.
  • She still loves tv and we use it to our advantage at times!
  • She is getting so much stronger and can sit up for about a second at a time before falling over.
  • She is becoming much more vocal and I love it when she tells me all about her day.
  • She tried veggies for the first time. So far she has eaten sweet peas, squash, green beans, and carrots. Carrots are by far her favorite and she doesn't like green beans at all!
  • Macie goes to bed around 7pm or so and wakes up to eat around 4:30 or 5. Then, she goes back to sleep until it is time to go to daycare. Much, much better than before!
Soooo big!
That hand is always in her mouth!!

Don't mind me, I'm just taking out this duck!

Run of Luck

Some of the ladies who meet every Wednesday night for our health club walked this morning in the Run of Luck. We didn't win the $1000 prize, but I was very proud of myself! I finished a 7k in 63minutes and 14 seconds!! That is a little over four miles and means that I kept up a pace just a little under a 15 minute mile! Allie and I stuck together throughout the walk and we jogged for some parts of it. Hopefully, next time we do a walk like this, I will be able to do just as well!!

A New Toy

Tonight, I met Brian at his work so that he could show me around. Then, we headed to Sturgis to visit his parents. I reluctantly dressed Macie in the UK cheerleading outfit that Grammie and Pops gave her for Christmas. But, as Jordan said, we could dress her up in a brown paper sack and she would look cute! The funny thing was that as soon as I put her in it, she spit up everywhere. That's my girl!!
When we got there, they gave Macie an exersaucer they had to stay at their house. Macie has been in one at Grandma's house (my mom), but now we have one for home too! The cool thing is that it grows with her!
Macie has started "talking" more. Here I caught her with her mouth open as she was telling me about her day.
Mom, look at my new toy!
Macie loved this giraffe. Even when Pops would spin her around to look at other toys, she would make her way back to it. It was so funny!
I've got it now!
Thanks Grammie and Pops for my new toy!!

Miss Independent

Macie has been trying to hold her own bottle lately and sometimes she is able to. Tonight was one of those nights. It is just one more milestone my little one is reaching!
Look Mom, I can do it all by myself!

Clay and Macie

This afternoon, Macie and I went to visit Grams B. My Aunt Dawn, cousin, Jamie, and her son, Clay were there too. I hadn't seen Clay since he was in the hospital and we wanted to take some pictures of them together. Clay will be 2 months old next Saturday and Macie will be 5 months old on Friday. Time sure does fly! They were both awake and not crying for the photo shoot. A miracle if you ask me!
Want to see my onesie??
During the photo shoot, they leaned in and had their arms intertwined like they were holding hands....too cute!!
Aunt Dawn with Clay... a very proud Grandma
Macie kept checking out Grams B. It was like she was thinking "Haven't I seen you before?"

100th POST!!

This is my 100th post! I can hardly believe it! I started this blog last June as a way to document my pregnancy and to share pictures with family and friends who live in different cities or who we don't get to see very often. Like so many people I know, what started out as a blog to keep others updated on our daily lives has turned in to much more. I am thrilled to find out how many people actually check the blog to see what is going on with the Mitchell family. Brian's aunt said it best, "It's like we get to watch Macie grow up even though we only get to see her a few times a year".
I was so excited to find out that I will be able to make my blog into a book, so I have record of so many little things that are happening in our lives.
I have also enjoyed the world of blogging and love to read about other people and what is going on in their life. Brian makes fun of me because some of the blogs that I read are about people I have never met.
Hopefully, I will be able to continue blogging. Thanks to all of my readers and thanks to all of the other bloggers who give me an insight into their lives!!

Dancing Couple

Last night, we went to Tin Fish for some yummy fish tacos. Not only was the food great, but so was the entertainment and company. The Broeker Family, The Coomes Family and The Maurers went with us and we had a great time. A guy was playing the guitar and Hannah and Bailey started dancing. It was the cutest thing! I was the only one who had my camera, believe it or not, so I snapped a few pics. It was hard considering they weren't exactly standing still

Veggies

Last night, we introduced Macie to the world of vegetables. When we went to see Dr. Voyles last week, he told me to start her on veggies this week and then move to fruit. Overall, the feeding went very well. She ate all of the sweet peas that I had portioned out for her and I look forward to introducing her to many new foods! I can't believe how big my little girl is getting!!

Yummy!!

Meet The Shepherds

On Saturday, we spent most of the day and all night at Beth and Wil's wedding. I realized after writing the title that I didn't have any pictures of Beth and Wil together, but I do have a few pics of the special day. Macie did so well! She was happy as can be and cooperated for pics before the wedding and slept through the actual ceremony. She woke up long enough to see a few people at the reception and then was out for the night. Maybe I should hire a dj every night so that she will sleep!! Overall, it was a great night and I am very happy for the newly married couple!
Beth look absolutely gorgeous! Macie and the flower girl, Lily, sat on her lap for some photos.
