St. Louis Zoo

Last Friday, Brian took off work for John's wedding weekend.  We decided to get up super early and spend the day at the St. Louis Zoo.  We hadn't been in three years and there was a lot we wanted to see.  We got there before the zoo opened and were actually able to get in then.  We headed straight to the sting rays and were first in line to pet them.  The sting rays, children's zoo, and carousel are all free in the first hour and we wanted to take advantage of that!  We were able to do all three and the kids loved it.  Some highlights of this trip were petting stingrays and guinea pigs, brushing goats, the baby orangutan, and seeing the polar bear, penguins, puffins, and new sea lion exhibit.
We only lasted about 4 hours because it warmed up fast and we were all hot!  There was a lot of the zoo that we didn't see to be honest.  We made sure we saw animals we can't always see, like the elephants, and then decided to go try to check into the hotel early.  Lilah wanted to see the giraffes and zebras, but we were able to convince her that swimming at the hotel would be way more fun and we can see those animals at our zoo.  She was sold and our weekend was off to a good start!

Science ~ Collecting Game: We made predictions of what we might find outside to collect that would fit in our egg cartons.  Then, we each went outside to find our items and talked about it.  We journaled our predictions and outcomes.

Gym Class ~ Yoga: We've been doing Cosmic Kids Yoga once a week for our gym class.  Each video is about a different animal adventure.  The kids LOVE doing it and ask to do it more often.  Andre joined in on the fun this day!

Wesselman's Science Class ~ Spectacular Spiders: This months' topic was spiders and the kids had so much fun learning all about them.  They went on web and moth hunts, made crafts, and saw some real spiders.
