Birthday Letters

Each year around their birthdays, I write each child a letter on here.  Since today is Gavin's birthday, I thought I would include all three.  It is so hard to believe that I now have a 7, 6, and 4 year old.  Time flies, and as they say...DON'T BLINK!!

Dear Macie,
May Lu, Lubie, May....how in the heck are you 7 years old?  At seven, you love soccer, Good Luck Charlie, arts and craft projects, all things American Girl, reading, being outside, and friends.  You have shown me such a mature side to you at times and are starting to think more about others before yourself.  I love watching you get closer to your brother and sister.  Even though you fight me at times with Math, you are really thriving in school and I enjoy reading our Junie B Jone's books together.  You have a love of life and fully experience all of the highs and lows.  You still love to cuddle and I'll take it as long as I can!  In the past year you've lost your first teeth, scored your first goals in soccer, and went to the American Girl store for the first time.  You are a worrier, but you don't meet a stranger.  You have an adventurous side and recently announced you are going to live in Mexico when you are older.  Even when you are at your worst, I am so proud to be your mom!  You are my first born love!  Always remember, you are smart, beautiful, kind, and important!
I love you to the moon and back,
Mom

Dear Gavin,
G, Dude, Freddy Frenchfry...how in the heck are you 6 years old?  At six, you love legos, Minecraft, Skylanders, Pokémon, being outside, Bentley, and your Kindle Fire.  You are the bravest Kid person I know!  2015 was a year of many trips to the hospital and procedure after procedure and you are such a rock star and so stoic, not letting anyone around know how you are feeling (except mom and dad). You are loved by all of your doctors and nurses.  You still like Super Heroes and even have your own super hero name, Nitinol Man!  You take your time to figure out things and how they work.  You tell me you want to be a scientist and science is your favorite thing about school.  You have quite the stubborn streak, but that persistence and passion will bode you well in life.  You also have a very giving spirit and want others around you to be happy. It melts my heart when you put others in front of yourself.  In the past year, you lost your first teeth, bought your own dog, got glasses, were on TV, and started reading!  Even when your anger and frustration rear its ugly head, I am so proud to be your mom!  You are my favorite boy in the world! Always remember, you are smart, handsome, kind, and important!
I love you to the moon and back,
Mom

Dear Lilah,
LJ, Lilah Jean Swimmin' (Dancin') Machine...how in the heck are you 4 years old?  At four, you love Doc McStuffins, Cailou, babies, gymnastics, Mommy, and being outside.  You are such a caretaker and tell us you want to be a doctor when you grow up.  Despite being the youngest, you do not let your big sister and brother boss you around.  You love school and have taken off this year!  Math is your favorite subject and you are learning all of your colors, shapes and counting.  You are so good with Bentley and he listens well to you.  You love snuggling with Mommy and Daddy and we eat it up.  You tell us you want to have lots of babies and that you will live close by so you can visit with them.  Your room is always the cleanest room and it bothers you when other kids come and mess it up.  In the past year, you started gymnastics, started going to science class, and have become very independent (when you want to be). Even when your sass takes over, I am so proud to be your mom!  You will always be my baby, no matter how big you get! Always remember, you are smart, beautiful, kind, and important!
I love you to the moon and back,
Mom
