Fun Fest

After we picked up Grandpa, we headed to Fun Fest at my school. Grandma, Aunt Allie, and Brian met us there.  We had a quick dinner of nachos, hot dogs, pizza, and cheese sticks.  Then, it was time to play games.  The kids had so much fun!  They got to pick out prizes and we came home with m&ms and cupcakes (from Piece of Cake…yummy!!).   It was another night that was later for the kids.  Gavin had a wonderful birthday!  Happy Birthday Dude!!

Happy Birthday Gavin!!

Friday was Gavin’s 3rd birthday!  I honestly can’t believe he is 3!!  Even though we already had his party, it still seemed unreal on his actual birthday.  I always get a little bit sad, but happy at the same time.

Gavin woke up to a present from us and cards from Great-Grandma Wolf and Grammie and Pops.  He opened the cards first and found money!  Then, he opened the gifts from us.  We got him a sock monkey game, Thomas swim trunks, football, and an Elmo placemat.  He was excited about all of the gifts, but most excited about the placemat!  He used it right away for breakfast.  We all sang “Happy Birthday” to him.

There was a 2 hour delay on Friday, and I woke up with a horrible headache.  Brian was kind enough to let me lay back down while he fed the kids and got them ready.  He took Gavin and Lilah to Miss Julie’s.  He got to share his cupcakes with his friends and they sang “Happy Birthday” to him.

When I picked up him up, he was raring to go!  We headed to visit my Grandma Wolf because she shares a birthday with Gavin.  The kids made her card.  When they were there, they were spoiled rotten.  The kids had another cupcake, ice cream balls, nuts, and Kool Aid.  To say they were on a sugar high is an understatement!  Aunt Jamie also gave Macie and Gavin a balloon and Gavin some bead necklaces.  After about an hour, we headed to pick up my dad for the Fun Fest.  Gavin’s birthday was off to a great start!!

Cupcakes!

Thursday night, Gavin helped me make cupcakes to take to daycare on Friday for his birthday.  Gavin picked strawberry cupcakes with white icing and sprinkles.  I had to chuckle because as a kid, Brian used to have a pink cake and pink icing.  Strawberry was his favorite!  We counted out 11 cupcakes to take to Miss Julie’s.  She insisted that I not bring one for her because she is back on Weight Watchers.  Gavin was disturbed by the fact that there was an empty spot on the tray, but I assured him that it was OK!

Get Spotted At the Library

Wednesday night, Preschool invited all of the students and their families to “Get Spotted At the Library”.  Macie was super excited to go and I really wanted to take her.  The only problem was that Brian always has to work late at the end of the month.  Thankfully, my mom agreed to meet me at the library since I had all three kids.  They started by having a story time and Gavin joined right in!  He was so well behaved and did everything the other kids did.  Macie was beyond wound up and had a blast.  She loved every minute of the story time and giggled and laughed the whole time.  Lilah also had a great time and got the attention of many other parents.  After the story time portion, Mrs. Wassmer passed out report cards and each child was given a dog and asked to find five different colored stickers.

I let each child pick a movie and then it was time to go home.  It was a late night for them, but a lot of fun!

Macie did great on her first report card!  She had a few behavioral things to work on, but everything else she has mastered!  We are so proud of her!
