Miss Julie offered to keep the kids all day on Friday and I took her up on it. I was able to do all of the errands for Lilah’s party, meet my dad, Annie, and Charles for lunch, and prep some of the food. I was also able to go to game night at my Aunt Julie’s house by myself! It was so nice to have a day just for me. I could play games and not worry about any kids. I left at around 10:30 so that I could drop off my dad and Charles and then go to Walmart to get the last few things for the party. I had a long day and it was going to be an early morning!

Little Helpers
Last Thursday was a pretty hectic day at home. I decided to try to turn it around and get our house in order. Macie and Gavin jumped right in and started helping! I finally got caught up on the kids’ laundry and all of the rooms in order (except the kitchen). It was by no means perfect, but much, much better! Macie and Gavin even helped me sort and match up pairs of socks. They did a great job!
Christmas #7 ~ Sturgis
We left our house around 10:30. I have to admit that Christmas day as a whole was a little stressful, but we made it all work. We went to spend time with Grammie, Pops, Aunt Katie, and Uncle Luke. The Shepherd family was home sick. Hopefully, we will be able to see them soon. The kids are really missing Parker! Later in the day, we were even lucky enough to hang out with Uncle John and Erin. We spent the rest of the day there and didn’t leave until close to 7:00. We ate two meals of yummy foods, opened presents and stockings, and hung out. The kids were all thrilled with their gifts. Even Grammie’s sister, Susie, sent gifts for the kids. We got Grammie and Pops blankets and Aunt Katie and Uncle Luke liked their owl cookie jar and towels for their new house! Once again, I took a lot of pictures!
#6 Christmas at Home
My kids rarely sleep in. Like never! Macie was up a little before 6 and came to our bed like we asked her to. The other two stayed asleep. We let them sleep for a little bit, but ended up waking them up at 6:30. I knew we had to go to Sturgis and I wanted plenty of time to do all of our traditions at home. We opened presents, had breakfast on our Christmas dishes, Brian read the Bible story, and we got ready for the day. We opened and played with most of the kids’ toys. They got 8 presents each! We always take them to Dollar Tree and let them pick out gifts for everyone in the family. We got them two things and Santa brought 4 gifts (something they want, something they need, something to wear, and something to read). I love visiting all of our families, but the time at home just the 5 of us is pretty darn special, too.
