Last week was Red Ribbon Week at school. This was the first time Macie got to participate in all of the fun theme days. Monday was “Team Up Against Drugs”, Tuesday was “Give drugs the boot”, Wednesday was “Don’t get mixed up in drugs”, Thursday was “Redder the Better” and Friday was “Lei off of drugs. Macie looked so cute each day and was excited to dress up. On Friday, there was a Cougar Pride assembly. It was a fun week and Gavin is already excited about next year!

Sturgis Trick or Treat
After Trunk or Treat, we loaded up to visit Grammie and Pops. The van didn’t start at first and we had to be jumped since Brian was listening to the Colt’s game the whole time! After that, the ride was peaceful since all three knocked out. We picked them up a cheeseburger on the way. We were able to hang out with Grammie and Pops for a bit before making the trek back to Evansville.

Trunk or Treat
The Sunday before Halloween,we did some pre-trick or treating. We started out at Grandma and Grandpa’s house. The kids each got a huge candy necklace as well as some other goodies. Then, we went to the Trunk or Treat at school. We decided to set up our van this year. We decorated it in a Colt’s theme since Leland gave us some stuff last year. There was a good turn out and the kids had a lot of fun. They played games and got plenty of candy. Macie was really good at the ghost race and Gavin was wrapped up like a mummy. They loved to just run around with their friends.
For Halloween, we let the kids go and buy a costume this year. Macie was Elsa, Lilah was Anna, and Gavin was Falcon. I wasn’t thrilled the girls were going to be the same as everyone else, but went with it. I even tried to convince Gavin to be Olaf or another character, but he wouldn’t go for it. There were three sister sets of Elsa and Anna at the Trunk or Treat alone.
I have to say it was worth it to see the kids in their costumes. They were all so excited and Macie looked in the mirror and said, “I look like the real Elsa!” I almost cried!
