Family Dinner

This year, my parents started hosting a Family Dinner on the 2nd Sunday of each month.  Even though we all live in the same town now, we don't really get together due to our crazy schedules.  So far, every single person has been to every dinner!  Last Sunday, my mom told the kids to bring suits and they played with the hose.  Then, she filled up a tub for each child to have their own little pool. They had a great time!

LJ

This cutie patootie was so proud to wear her new dress from Aunt Katie to church last week!

And look at the numbers she wrote on her own before bed!  I have not worked with her that much on number writing, so this was really impressive to me!  At the top, the numbers read 1, 3, 2, 5, 4, 6, 10, 8, 7.  At the bottom she wrote the rest of the numbers to 20!!

Homeschool Summer Goals

We finished school at the end of May officially and our first day of the new school year is August 1st.  However, I gave each child a goal's sheet with some summer goals.  For the most part they are fun, but it just helps to keep them on track and review things that we learned last year.  We obviously don't work on school things every day, but today all three were working with me at the table for a little bit.
Lilah is working on scissor skills and Gavin is doing his "Handwriting Without Tears" homework from his occupational therapist.
Macie is working on Math Word Problems
My goals for them are on the left and the Summer Reading Program sheet is on the right.  We started on the wrong end...oops!
Since they are goals, we adjust as we go.  I decided to finish the Indiana books in August instead of this summer.

Do you make summer goals for your kids?

Happy 4th of July

Grammie and Pops made some flag shirts with the kids a week or so ago and they couldn't wait to wear them on the 4th.  Grammie thought they would also be perfect for the upcoming Olympics!  Our 4th was pretty low key since the weather was terrible and it stormed almost all day.  We hung out at home watching America's Got Talent and American Ninja Warrier and then went to the neighbors to watch a few fireworks instead of going downtown.  The kids were able to do their first sparklers this year.  Macie and Gavin were nervous about it at first, but Lilah did it on her own with no help.  The other two warmed up to it and had a lot of fun.
 Macie wasn't thrilled about pictures

But these two sure had fun!

Not great sparkler pictures but I tried!
