Out and About

Friday was another busy day for Lilah and me! Thankfully, it was a pretty nice day and not too cold. First up, I had a brow wax. I slept in a bit too late and was rushing out the door to make it there by 10:45! When I was there, I ran into my Grandma Wolf. I was happy to see her and my Aunt Jeri (who works at the same place) so I could show off Lilah. I also made appointments for Macie and Gavin to get their hair cut on Saturday. During my brow wax, I caught up with Natalie. She is pregnant with her third and we talked about how crazy it is. I wouldn't change a thing...but it's not always easy!
After my appointment, I ran by school. I originally didn't want to take Lilah inside because I didn't want to expose her to anything, but I had to take her. I went straight into the office to fill out my insurance paper work, pick up a form for a student, and buy scrip. I only saw a few people and I was out the door.
After school, I ran home to feed Lilah and eat some lunch. Then, we were out the door and off to my doctor's appointment. Once again, Lilah was a hit! The receptionists, ultrasound tech, Nusha, and Dr. Crutcher were happy to see her. They all said that they don't often get to see the end result. I got on the scale and was thrilled to see that I've lost 20 pounds! I only gained 15, so that's great. I am smaller than I've been in a LONG time. Now, the trick is, I need to keep it off and lose more. I'm not going to get pregnant again, so hopefully I'll be able to do it. My blood pressure was also good. The main reason I had to go in was to have my incision checked. It looked fine and I'll go back in a few weeks for my yearly check up.
Our final stop was Walgreens. I had to pick up my photo cards and was happy to run into my Aunt Jackie. She hadn't seen Lilah either and was showing her off to people in the store. The funniest thing happened. An elderly lady came up and talked about how cute she was and asked what her name was. When I said Lilah she looked shocked. Come to find out her name was Lilah, but her mom didn't like her name and never called her that. How random is that?
Friday was a good day, but I was worn out!

More Presents

Last night the kids got to open one more Christmas present! We exchange names on my dad's side of the family and my cousin brought by their gifts on Wednesday. She was hoping to see the kids open them, but it didn't quite work out that way. Macie and Gavin LOVED their toys! Gavin got a interactive book and Macie got her own computer. I think we are finally done opening Christmas gifts. I plan to take down the tree and put everything away this weekend. It is definitely time to move on!

Ready, Set...
GO!!

Love the smile!

Watch 'em Grow

Aunt Annie got Macie and Gavin animals to grow. Macie got a dolphin and Gavin got a turtle. We've done a starfish before and the kids loved it. They have so much fun checking on their animals everyday. We put them in the water on Sunday night and then got them out last night. The cool thing is, they will slowly shrink back down to their original size and you can do the whole process over again. I love doing fun little projects like this with the kids and watching them get so excited!

Gavin was so proud of his turtle...although he kept saying "ribbit". Guess he thought it was a frog!

Girls' Day

Thursday morning both girls had a doctor appointment so I made it a girls' day. Gavin went to daycare and it was the first time I've been out and about on my own. Of course, Lilah didn't sleep much the night before and ate constantly. I was beyond exhausted, but I made it through the day!
The girls' appointment was at 9:15, which isn't too early, but it was still rough to get everyone ready and out the door. I don't know what I will do when I have all three on my own! First they weighed and measured both girls. Lilah weighs 8 pounds 5 ounces and is 20 1/8 inches long. Macie weighed 34 pounds (75th percentile) and is 37 1/4 inches tall (50th percentile). Then, we went back in the room and they wanted Macie to get into a gown. She was NOT having it! I got her to strip down and she was much happier being in her panties then wearing the gown. I didn't fight the battle. She had been freaking out about going to the doctor for a couple of days and acted out at daycare horribly the day before. I had to force her on the scale so the gown was the least of my worries. When Dr. Voyles came in, he checked out Lilah first. He said she was doing great. She is almost back to her birth weight and doesn't seem to be affected by all of the coughing going on in our house. He was happy that her cord fell off, but noticed that her belly button was slightly herniated. He said it wasn't a big deal and should resolve itself soon. Lilah goes back at 2 months for her first round of shots:( Macie was next. She let Dr. Voyles do what he needed but not without some tears. He was happy with her progress and even happier when he realized she hadn't been there since her last well visit. I asked Dr. Voyles about her anxiety and he said it was normal. I also asked about her belly aches. Macie always complains that her belly hurts, but I don't know how much stock to take in it. He said not to worry about it much. She will go back in one year and get her kindergarten shots. I think Daddy needs to take her to that appointment! Overall, Dr. Voyles said that we have two healthy girls...music to my ears! The appointment went great up until this point. I had to get both girls dressed and finish filling out the paperwork. The girls were both needing me and I was getting stressed. Macie was happy that she got a Strawberry Shortcake sticker and I was happy to get out of there!
After we left, we went to the bank, dropped off some clothes at Goodwill, and got gas. The last stop was Walmart. I promised Macie we would go get her a new hat for winter and a treat if she was good at the doctor. I found a hat that matched her coat for $1.27. Do you think that is what we ended up with? NO...Macie spotted a Dora hat that was pink. Double bonus in her eyes! I gave in and let her have it even though it was a bit more expensive. Then, she picked Reece Pieces as her treat. The rest of the day we stayed home. We all took a nap and hung out. I'm so glad that I had a full day with my girls!

New hat! Don't worry, she didn't eat all of those Reese Pieces at one time!
