When Macie started school last year, I started a new tradition. On the first day of school, I take all school aged kids for ice cream. I had an unexpected meeting, but had already promised the kids, so we headed to Lic’s after school. We chatted about their day and enjoyed our ice cream. I love this tradition and look forward to doing it every year!
After ice cream, we rushed home to get some things ready. Grandma, Grandpa, and Aunt Allie came over for dinner. They wanted to hear about the kids’ first day. Grandma had sent them text messages that morning wishing them a great day. Grammie called in the morning and before the kids went to bed to find out how school went. The kids got to bed a little later that usual and we were all worn out from the busy day!
