Bloody Boo Boo

Tonight while we were cooking dinner, Macie fell on the floor in the kitchen. This is not unusual, so we didn't freak out at first. Then, Macie started screaming. I was in the bathroom (surprise surprise) and Brian had food on his hands, but he ran to her anyway. When he picked her up, he realized there was blood gushing out of her mouth. I ran in and tried to help calm her down. There was blood all over her burp cloth and shirt. She kept crying for her "pap", so we gave it to her so she would stop screaming. I cuddled her for a bit and then took her to change her clothes. As I was changing her, I was able to get a better look at her mouth. I looks like her top lip was cut in between her front teeth. I think the "pap" in her mouth made the fall worse. We could never get a great look at it because she kept fighting us, but it did stop bleeding. I threw the burp cloth away and was able to salvage her shirt. She chewed on an ice pack for a while and we gave her some Tylenol. Hopefully, she won't have a swollen lip tomorrow!
She happily chewed in the ice pack until bedtime and was sad when we took it away!

A Visit from Hannah

Mary and Hannah visited us today. Mary told me that she didn't have any shoes that fit Hannah because her feet were so small. I knew that I had several pairs of shoes that Macie had already outgrown. When I went through all of her stuff yesterday, I kept out a few pair that might fit Hannah so she would have some shoes to go with her Christmas dress. We found some that will work. We have been blessed by people passing stuff down to us, so I am happy to help out someone in return. While they were here, Macie and Hannah played with Macie's toys. Macie even conned Mary into reading her a book.
Story time...look how they are both so into it! That is not common with one year olds!
When she was done reading, Macie wanted her to read it again...and again!
Macie has to point to everything in the book like we usually do

Santa Goes High Tech

Santa emailed Macie a video message! It was the coolest thing! He assured her that she was on the nice list and that if she wanted to stay there she had to listen to her parents! Ha! Macie was so thrilled to see him she kept pointing, smiling, and saying "o o".
Mesmerized by Santa
(By the way, it is very difficult to hold Macie and the laptop when I have no lap left and take a picture all at the same time!)
Macie has already gotten several Christmas presents! She got a puzzle, bath toy, and little people school bus from the kids at Grammies, Rachel and Eric got her this phone, and Julie, Rob, and the kids got her a book and stuffed Moose. Christmas hasn't even gotten here yet and I am getting worried that we might need to add on just to fit all of the toys!!

Hard Work Pays Off!!

Yesterday, Macie went to Grandma's house and played with Aunt Annie while I worked on her bedroom. Well, it isn't just her bedroom anymore! Macie and Gavin will be sharing. I figured it made sense to only have one changing station and since they will both be in cribs, it will make things easier on us. I worked on their room for 7 hours. Between cleaning out everything, throwing things away, rearranging furniture, reorganizing the closet and sorting through all of Macie's clothes, I had a lot to do. Macie has SOO MANY CLOTHES! I went through everything she has outgrown to see if there were any unisex outfits that Gavin could wear. I did find a whole box full. Then, I sorted all of her clothes by size and packed them away in the shed. Macie even has a tub with clothes she can't wear yet. They vary in size from 18 months all the way to 5T! I just can't turn someone down when they offer us clothes. We have been so blessed and have hardly bought Macie any clothes. Think about all the money we have saved!
There are still a few finishing touches that need to be added to the room like Gavin's name on the wall and we will have to buy a few things before he comes. After Christmas, I am also going to sort through all of the toys and hopefully get a little more organized. Every project that I complete helps to alleviate my stress. I can't stand piles of crap or too much clutter. It stresses me out and drives me crazy. I used to walk in the room and want to scream. Now, I just say ahhhhhh!
It is hard to get a good picture, but this is the view from the door. Macie's bed is on the left and Gavin's is on the right.
My cousin gave me bedding for Gavin that is pretty much the boy version of what Macie already has. It has safari animals and there are yellows and purples in it to go with Macie's.
