In other news...Macie didn't have one accident all day and she told us every time she had to go! We've only been potty training for two weeks and she rarely has an accident! Of course, she still wears a pullup when she is sleeping, but I am so proud of her!

Bedtime Story
Every night, we let Macie pick a book for us to read. Daddy was reading the book and she got out her own book to read on her bed. Of course, I had to snap a picture. When she caught me, she wanted me to take more pictures of her! Yes....I've created a monster!

Finger
Macie was extremly crabby this evening. We finally just put her to bed a bit early. She started crying uncontrollably. Brian went in there to check on her. She calmed down a bit, but was crying too much to tell him what was wrong. A little bit later, I went in there and here is the conversation we had:
Macie: "My finga hrt"
Mommy: "Do you want me to kiss it?"
Macie:"Uh huh.....where daddy go?"
Mommy: "He's in the living room. Do you want me to hold you?"
Macie: "Uh huh..." Sniff sniff
Mommy: "What happened to your finger?"
Macie: "I bite it."
Mommy: "Why did you do that?"
Macie: "ummm, ummm..."
This girl is a mess!!!

9 Months Old!!!
The Dude is 9 months old! I sound like a broken record, but time is flying by! He is the sweetest thing and getting busier and busier every day!

- He is rolling all over the place. He will also spin himself around and push backwards. He hasn't moved forward yet, but it is just a matter of time!
- He now has 4 teeth!
- He is pretty much on the same schedule, but he has added a few new foods to his diet. He has tried my mashed potatoes and mashed sweet potatoes, pudding, and has had small bits of a biscuit. He is feeding himself puffs and holding his own bottle. He also had juice for the first time. Many new foods coming soon!
- He is happy almost all of the time and has the best smile! Gotta love the dimples!
- He is talking all of the time and said his first word, "ball".
Check Ups
Both kids had an appointment with Dr. Voyles today. I made Brian come with me to witness first hand how big of a challenge it can be to take two small children to the doctor. He had no idea how I could've done that alone in the past! The highlight of the day....NO SHOTS!
Macie 2 Year Check Up
Weight: 27 pounds 4.5 ounces (6oth percentile)
Length: 34 1/4 inches (64th percentile)
Dr. Voyles was very impressed with her vocabulary and said that she is doing very well. Our only concern with her is that she sometimes has a problem with her left arm. We will be in the middle of playing and she will start crying and holding her arm. It never lasts for long, but it has happened several times. Dr. Voyles said that her elbow could actually be popping out of place. We are just supposed to keep an eye on it and if she ever doesn't use her arm for an extended period of time (24 hours) call him immediately. Her next appointment isn't until she is 3 so we didn't even schedule it today because we will be back a few times with Gavin. No shots until 4!
Gavin 9 Month Check Up
Weight: 20 pounds
Length: 27 3/4 inches
(I get the percentiles confused but he was only at 35th and 43rd percentile which shocked me because he isn't nearly as big as he used to be. It's almost as if his growth has slowed down tremendously!)
Gavin is also doing well and talking up a storm. His birthmarks haven't changed much since our last visit. We have our next appointment in Indy in December. Our big concern with Gavin is that he doesn't put any pressure on his legs. He is doing a lot of other things (rolling over, etc) but if you hold him up he tucks his legs in. I hate to compare the kids, but Macie was pulling up by now. Dr. Voyles said that it could be nothing, but he is going to recommend that he sees a physical therapist for a consult. He put in the referral and we should hear something from First Steps by the end of the week. They will actually come to our house to do the evaluation. I'm hoping it's nothing, but I'd much rather be safe than sorry! His next appointment is on his first birthday. Brian scheduled it, but I may change it because who wants to get shots on their birthday?!?
