Monday, the kids and I spent a much needed day at home. In the afternoon, we set up the pool and played for a few hours. I gave them a popsicle snack and then cleaned them back off in the pool!
While they were playing, Macie and Gavin found sticks fishing poles, put crickets on the hooks, watched to see when the bobber went under, and reeled in their fish. They were pretending to be on the boat with their life jackets. It was so cute watching them recreate their fishing trip with Daddy and Uncle Wil. After a while, they decided that Macie was now the fish and Gavin caught her on his hook. Then, he had to get her off the hook by her mouth and throw her back. I just sat back and watched and listened. They obviously loved fishing and learned a lot! It was very relaxing for me and fun to watch their imaginations at work!
