Fireworks!

The kids had never seen fireworks before.  They are always in bed long before they go off.  We’ve never really made an effort to take them to see any.  I decided this year would be different.  I was a little nervous about how late it would be and the crowd, but everything went perfectly.  Aunt Allie came with us, which meant 3 adults and 3 kids!  We found a decent parking spot and were able to easily find a spot to set up our chairs.  Shriner’s Fest was going on, so we listened to some music, danced, and ate funnel cake before it started.  We also bought the kids some cotton candy, so they were amped up!  We ran into Brian’s running buddy, Brandon, and his family, so they sat by us.

The kids were in awe of the fireworks!  Lilah loved them and was pointing at them and trying to grab them.  The lady next to us just kept talking about how cute she was and how well the kids did with being so young.  It was a great night and they all fell asleep on the way home.  Even more good news…they slept in!  Macie got up at 7, Lilah got up at 7:30, and Gavin slept until after 8!!  We put a blanket over their window.  That combined with the late nights is working!!  Since everything went so well, we will probably be going again next year!
