Friday night, we had the Maurers over to celebrate Christmas with them. We always exchange gifts. It’s been way too long since we’ve hung out with just our two families. We rarely see them, so it was a nice treat. For dinner, we had turkey meatballs, roasted veggie kabobs, fruit kabobs, beer bread, and spinach artichoke dip. I wanted to make the food a little more fun. For dessert, we had cheesecake and cookies. We all exchanged gifts. Part of Macie’s hadn’t come in yet, so she has another gift coming. Gavin got a magazine subscription. That will be fun to get throughout the year. Overall, we had a great time and the kids did pretty well with few meltdowns. They didn’t go to bed until after 8:30. Two late nights in a row and Saturday would be another one!
