Bloomington

On Saturday July 2nd, we met Amy, Doug, and Sam in Bloomington for our yearly visit. They live north of Indy and Bloomington seems to be a good meeting place. Plus, Amy and I both like to go back to IU from time to time. We went to lunch at Lennies. The food was good and the company was great, but Macie's behavior was AWFUL! Brian and I were both so embarrassed. Part of the problem was that she was in the car for 2 and a half hours and she didn't want to sit in the high chair. The other part of the problem is that she is a complete and total handful these days. It is constantly a power struggle with her. We are trying to be as consistent and firm as possible while remaining calm, but Brian and I have both lost our cool a time or two. At times she can be so sweet, caring, and a great helper. Then the next minute she is pinning her brother on the ground. Overall, it was great to see the Powlens and we always leave saying we need to get together more often. Next time we are going to try the fall (much cooler) and I suggested a place where the kids can run around and play. Because of Macie's behavior, I didn't get any pictures. Maybe next time!
