Thursday night, we went to the Holy Spirit Summer Social. It turned out to be really nice weather wise which always helps! We met Grandma, Grandpa, and Aunt Allie there. Our first stop was the rides. Macie and Gavin had never really ridden any rides before. In fact, Macie was always terrified of everything that moved! She didn't even ride an elevator without being held until we were in St. Louis last week. (I forgot to mention that and how proud she was of herself) To my major shock, she wanted to ride some rides. We walked around first to see how many rides there were for the kids. Grandpa bought ten tickets and that ended up being plenty. The first ride both kids rode was the motorcycles. They liked it, but were ready for it to be over. Next, all four of us rode in the Strawberry ride. We had so much fun but got a little bit dizzy! Next up was the bouncy house. The final ride was the Dragon Roller Coaster. Macie kept saying she wanted to go on it, but I was a little hesitant. She would have to ride by herself and she had never done anything like that before. We made her watch other kids on it first and she didn't change her mind. She walked up there all by herself, let the guy put her in, and didn't freak out at all. She LOVED it! We could tell when she was done so we told the guy to stop since she was the only kid on the ride. I was beyond proud and even teared up as I watched her. She is growing up so fast!!!
After rides, we ate dinner and then played games. Brian took the kids home and I stayed to work for the rest of the night.
