On Saturday, June 1st, my parents and Aunt Allie picked up Gavin and Macie first thing in the morning. They took them to Indy with them a day early. They went to McDonald’s for lunch, to play at a park, and stay in a hotel. They were able to visit with Aunt Annie and Uncle Charles. They were very well behaved and I was happy to hear that.
About 4am Sunday morning, Brian, Lilah, and I headed to Indy to join them. Brian had gotten very little sleep, but insisted on driving. When we got to Indy, we went straight to the hotel. We changed Lilah and then loaded up to go to the zoo. We’d never been to the Indy zoo and have been trying to make it there for a while now. It was a pretty nice day and the place was crowded. Gavin even pet a shark! One thing I was looking forward to was the dolphin show because the kids had never seen anything like that before. Unfortunately, that is when Macie had a HUGE and EMBARRASSING meltdown. She wouldn’t calm down and get it together. She finally kind of did and we were able to half way watch the show.
Thankfully after lunch, she settled down and the rest of the day was good. We even let the kids play in the splash park. It was a bit cold, but they had a blast! The camera battery died, so I have no pics of that. After the zoo, mom headed back to Evansville and we went to the hotel to get settled in. All three kids fell asleep and took a short nap.
