Swimming and Riley Visit

Once we got back to the hotel, I got our room organized and then we had a little popcorn snack.  We stayed at a Drury and you get so much for your money.  You can eat dinner and breakfast there, as well as get soft drinks, popcorn and a few choice beverages each night all free of charge!  Totally worth it!

After resting for a while, we ate dinner downstairs and then got ready for the pool.  Let me say, it was cold…like really cold, but we promised the kids we would swim.  Wow is all I can say.  We had a lot of fun and then headed up to the room to get ready for bed.

The reason we were in Indy was for Gavin’s Riley appointment.  He had another appointment with Dr. Loder (ortho).  We were up and ready early and enjoyed breakfast downstairs.  Allie and Grandpa stayed to help us with the girls during the appointment.  We called the office and they said to go ahead and come in a bit early so we could get started on the x-rays.  As always, Gavin was SO well behaved.  They had called in extra help since he was three and were highly impressed that he just laid there no problems.  They gave him a blue car and we were back to waiting to see Dr. Loder.  The appointment with him was pretty quick.  He determined that last year there was a 9 millimeter difference (right leg longer) and now there is a 1.4 centimeter difference (a little more than half an inch).  Although the difference increased, he didn’t change the size of the lift.  We will go back to see him in a year to do the same thing.

Gavin Funny: When he was at the park on Saturday, my mom called him a “climbing fool”, so at the doctor’s office he had to tell the doc and nurse that he was a “climbing fool”.  They were a little confused, but I thought it was cute and funny!
