CT Angiogram Results

On the way home from picking up the girls, Dr. Contreras called me.  This is another reason I love her!  She called me herself instead of having her nurse call me.  She said the blood work all came back normal.  Then, she said that there were no vascular lesions found in the intestinal tract, but that there was a vein close to his rectum.  However, they don’t think that is the source of the bleeding.  She said she was now not sure if the scope was the next best choice.  She just wanted us to start the Miralax and come back to see her in August.  She was going to email Dr. Marshalleck (an interventional radiologist who diagnosed Gavin) and get his input.  Gavin isn’t a patient of his yet, but we know he probably will be because both Dr. C and Dr. H refer to him a lot and Gavin will need that type of specialist on his “team”.  She is also going to have her boss present Gavin’s case at a conference this week to get more input.  If something comes up, she will call us.  If not, we will just see her in a few months!
