First Family Meeting

Wednesday night, we had our first family meeting.  Brian and I have been talking about having family meetings on a regular basis so we can talk to the kids about different things.  We want to make sure that we are telling them the same thing.  We also want to make sure they realize Mommy and Daddy both feel the same way.  Our first family meeting was about yelling.  We have entirely too much yelling in our house.  There are four culprits.  I want a more peaceful home.  I wrote, "No Yelling" on an old yogurt container.  We talked about how we should talk nicely to each other even if we are upset.  Any time someone yells, they have to get a penny out of their piggy bank (or wallet), and put it in the bucket.  We've had several pennies put in, but it is helping.  When we don't have anymore yelling in our house, we will go do something special as a family to celebrate.
Macie loved the family meeting so much she wanted to have another one last night!  We will use these family meetings to talk about serious issues, as well as, upcoming events, and life lessons.  More than anything, I want a close knit family that loves and respects each other.
